Lead Designer

In the role of Lead Designer at Clokkemaker, we are looking for someone full of big, brilliant, creative and random ideas. Someone who can develop ideas into anything from campaign and communication platforms and concepts to events, stunts, product experiences and more, into credible and irresistible client-facing pitches and proposals. You will have a track record of creating impact ‘in real life’ – developing ideas that drive word of mouth, publicity and shared experiences; in person, online and in culture. You should be comfortable owning the end-to-end development of creative products and proposals, take pride in their own high standards and those of the wider team and agency, and should have experience training, mentoring, developing and collaborating with others.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the delivery of multi-disciplinary design projects.
  • Have strong technical skills to lead the development of projects both internally and externally
  • Partner with the team to develop creative solutions that answer and exceed client briefs
  • Plan and develop the executions of design solutions for online, social, experiential and entertainment.
  • Review design briefs and add value to ensure the team has the appropriate information and direction.
  • Ensure standards for creative deliverables are maintained through to completion (concepts, layouts, final mechanicals, etc.)
  • Work with the Project Management team to respond quickly to business and client needs (e.g. short timescale projects, last-minute requests and last-minute changes)
  • Present creative recommendations to internal and external clients
  • Continually develop and challenge project delivery to improve our performance and provide positive challenges to your team to innovate and arrive at value driven designs.
  • Contribute to the development of standards and procedures set by the Creative Director and Design Director.
  • Communicate with the Project Manager and respective teams ensuring project deliverables are met

Requirements:

  • A proven track record of leading/ conceiving experiential ideas that generated media coverage, content creation, social sharing and/or other proven and measurable business results 
  • An inspiring innovator with experience of mentoring/ training others in developing and selling ideas
  • A proactive and hands on creative leader
  • A mindset that is not limited to inside the box thinking, with experience in a creative role either internal, in-agency or freelance (5+ years)
  • As showcased in your portfolio, you have experience with UI/UX design.
  • You have a well-developed understanding of grid systems, colour theory and typography and can tie each of these elements together with obsessive attention to detail.
  • You understand the importance of speed, performance and interactivity, not just the aesthetics.
  • You are passionate about all things digital and innovation.
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, Figma, Keynote
  • Motion graphics experience, using After Effects, Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro
  • You are organised, collaborative and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • You are open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.
  • You know how to inspire others around you and foster a positive atmosphere.
  • Excellent copywriting skills
  • Able to view solutions and issues from the customers perspective, driving the correct solutions for designs and problem resolution.
  • Ability to work across a variety of groups including designers and marketers to develop a complete understanding of a brand or platform and ensure the creativity and communication styles are maintained throughout 
  • Ability to quickly pick up and apply new skills and understand new technologies.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts and issues, to appropriately communicate with a wide range of audiences.
  • Strong problem solving and fault finding skills. Ability to analyse and break down complex issues.
  • Ability to accept feedback and adapt positively

Desired but not essential:

  • A proven track record of cultivating good client and talent relationships
  • A range of industry experience in various fields, mainly entertainment and tech, but also more broadly within music, fashion and beauty

Art Director

In the role of Art Director at Clokkemaker, you will work closely with our Design Director within a fast-paced creative environment seeing an idea through from concept to production.  You are a creative problem solver who is passionate about telling stories and bringing them to life with art direction and design.  You will lead the visual direction of our clients producing campaigns and editorials that are effective and engaging.  To be successful in this role, you will have a high degree of talent and skill and prospective candidates will be expected to conceptualise art direction briefs, carry out execution during both pitch and production stages of projects through to completion.

Responsibilities: 

  • Art direct, design and concept, conceptual brand expressions across all mediums, including mobile, product, film, interactive, OOH, print, shoots, editorial, events, experiential etc.
  • A strong understanding of how art direction, design and conceptual ideas can be used to tell a story on behalf of a brand and within a product
  • Develop treatments and moodboards for campaigns and shoots, for senior leadership sign off
  • Present ideas in a clear and focused way and make recommendations that are achievable within budget and schedule.
  • Ensure concepts reflect local culture across the regions globally
  • To be aware of competitor creative work and market/ technology developments in relation to the accounts you work on.
  • Work collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment with writers, strategists and product managers
  • Create original, breakthrough work
  • Translate complex strategic approaches into easily accessible creative concepts
  • Detailed-focussed, strong design skills

Requirements:

  • Prior professional experience as an Art Director
  • Graphic design experience
  • A strong portfolio containing examples of global campaigns
  • Broad understanding of culture across film, music, art, fashion, food & drink, travel and fitness.
  • Ability to work in a variety styles and across various formats
  • A keen and critical eye for framing, composition, colour, lighting, design, style and impact, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Solutions oriented and resourceful at tackling challenges
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to quickly create concepts and/or mockups to communicate complex ideas
  • Effective time management, problem solving and organisational skills
  • Ability to accept feedback and adapt positively

Creative Strategist

This important role in a growing team demands a strong strategic thinker with the vision to implement insights-led strategies and solutions for the commercial work undertaken for our brand partners. The Strategist will develop original creative strategies for campaigns and branded content projects and provide guidance throughout to ensure they are executed according to the campaign or brand’s objectives and vision.

Working closely with the Creative team, you will contribute to idea generation and play a key role in ideation sessions. We need an inspirational, ambitious strategist who has their finger on the pulse when it comes to cultural trends and the wider media and communications landscape, and someone who has a real desire to make an impact.

Responsibilities

  • Developing world-class creative strategy that wins pitches and influences award-winning campaigns
  • Partnering with Creatives to develop campaigns that drive success for our clients and ventures
  • Lead projects for our clients, helping to understand the challenges their facing and design solutions
  • Build the toolkit for our clients to implement our strategy, ensuring that no client is ever left with a slide deck and no idea what to do next
  • Identify white spaces in the market that our clients can innovate within
  • Shape propositions, products and services alongside the rest of the team, focussing on the commercial viability of these solution
  • Get involved in new business conversations, and in thought leadership creation, to ensure we always take a strategic first approach to our clients’ challenges
  • Work with the rest of the team on creating new services and approaches to add to our methodologies and ways of engaging clients
  • Building strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to develop the best possible campaign strategies and ideas
  • Advise on best practice and making sure we have access to data and intelligence databases to make sure all creative is underpinned with robust data and insight
  • Educating our team and client partners on creative strategy and strategy best practice

Requirements

  • Proven experience of successful brand, innovation, campaign and comms strategies
  • Experience working on, and winning, large new business pitches
  • Qualitative and quantitative research experience – be confident in using industry tools, sources and techniques
  • Insight development - translating research and data into unique and compelling insights
  • In-depth knowledge of the media landscape, new media technologies and platforms, and activation principles
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Exceptional communication skills – presentations, workshop and relationship development
  • Deck (Keynote) creation and strong presentation ability
